I have been asked by many customers, how do we actually create such a unique, world class affordable phone or tablet X series device?
Let's first explain the process.
We evaluate the market then we...
Make a custom ROM build - We do this so the software environment, added features and layout has the exact same look and feel that your used to.
Second, we have a quality hardware setup running the latest Android O.S. The setup is crucial so the smoothness, response time and overall performance of the device is on par with other brands such as Samsung or HTC.
The reason our process is possible is because Android is built using the Linux kernel. Linux is open source.
That means anything and anyone, or brand for that matter, that makes a change to any part of the code, has to upload there changes to the original code so other developers can use it and modify/enhance it and learn from it.
Androids hardware is also special because of the fact that it is part of open handset alliance (OHA) collective group of companies.
All manufacturers that make any hardware for Android are part of the OHA.
The basis of the OHA is to keep Android hardware advancing by releasing all hardware data and information materials, from all manufacturers, so everyone can see how a specific company reached a new breakthrough - Just like the operating system is open source, so is the hardware.
